Introduction
The aim of the bachelor's degree is to prepare highly trained education professionals to solve educational problems in the fields of teaching, administration, research and educational guidance.
The Bachelor of Education was first implemented in 1984, at the Graduate School of Education. Since then its curriculum has had several modifications, the most recent was in 2014, which is based on a competency model (MEFI). This program is taught in Mérida, as part of the Campus of Social, Economic-Administrative and Humanities Sciences, and in the Multidisciplinary Campus in Tizimín.
The program is characterized by being flexible, based on a credit system with mandatory, elective and free subjects. Its minimum duration is seven semesters and a maximum of 12 semesters depending on the possibilities and interests of each student. Professional social service and internship are included in the curriculum.
In 2008 it was certified as a high quality program by the Committee for the Evaluation of Pedagogy and Education Programs (CEPPE), in 2013 it was re-certified and in 2018 was re-certified for the second time.
Currently, the Bachelor’s degree in Education, Campus Mérida, is recognized with Level 1 in the EGEL Registry for High Performance Programs (IDAP), maintaining this distinction for the 8th consecutive time, which indicates that more than 80% of our students, on each occasion, obtained the Testimony of Satisfactory Performance or the Testimony of Outstanding Performance.
Objective
Fully train competent and successful professionals in the solution of educational problems in the fields of teaching, curriculum development, educational administration and school counseling, through the mastery of theory, practice and research in the educational sciences, within a framework of quality, innovation, ethics, social responsibility and sustainable development, in local, national and international contexts.

Graduation Requirements
* To have covered all credits of the undergraduate curriculum (320 credits minimum).
* To have concluded the social service based on the provisions of the Regulations of the Social Service of the Autonomous University of Yucatan.
* To comply with one of the degree options, established in the Curriculum.
* To cover the administrative degree requirements established by the Autonomous University of Yucatan and the Faculty of Education.
* All other requirements established in the Regulations of Registrations and Examinations of the Autonomous University of Yucatan.
